The health and viability of a man’s sperm may be evaluated using a sperm count test, commonly known as a semen analysis. When a man ejaculates, he releases a fluid called semen that contains his sperm and other compounds made up of sugar and protein.
To acquire a thorough picture of the sperm’s health, doctors will perform many tests on the sample. As recommended by the AACC, these tests should be spaced out by at least seven days and spread out over two to three months. Daily fluctuations in sperm counts are expected. For the most reliable conclusion, it’s best to take an average of all sperm samples.
